🌸 Open for Summer 2026

Josie’s
Flower Stand

Fort Thomas, KY  ·  All proceeds benefit La Soupe

Growing flowers.
Growing kindness.

Since 2022, Josie has been growing, tending, and selling flowers from our home in Fort Thomas — donating every dollar to La Soupe, a Cincinnati nonprofit that rescues food and turns it into meals for families facing food insecurity. What started as a backyard zinnia patch and a repurposed play stand for a summer project has grown into something much bigger. In two summers, with your support, Josie has raised nearly $2,500 — enough to fund around 500 meals for the community. We are so excited to begin our third summer spreading color and kindness with our community.

“I like that people enjoy the zinnias, and that it helps other families have food.” — Josie

Everything you want to know

Josie’s Flower Stand is a pay-what-you-want flower stand run by Josie Soltes in Fort Thomas, KY. Since 2022, Josie has grown, tended, and sold flowers each summer — donating all proceeds to La Soupe, a Cincinnati-based nonprofit fighting food waste and insecurity in the community. Each year, with the help of her family, Josie grows the zinnias from seed right in her back yard, and maintains and cuts them all summer to share with the community.
Mostly zinnias, in every color — red, pink, orange, yellow, purple, and more. Later in the summer, bouquets may also include marigolds, dahlias, and gladiolus, depending on what’s blooming. You can pick up a single stem or a full bouquet.
During the week, a self-serve stand is available on our front porch — sign up above for text alerts when we restock and for address information! On weekends, Josie sets up a pop-up stand at the corner of West Villa Place and South Fort Thomas Avenue in Fort Thomas, KY. Sign up for text alerts to know when we’re stocked and when pop-up sales are happening — the stand often sells out within a few hours!
Everything is donate-what-you-want. We often find people donate roughly $1 per stem or $10+ for a full bouquet, but you decide what feels right for you. Cash and Venmo are both welcome. All money goes directly to La Soupe.
Can’t make it to Fort Thomas? You can still participate. Donate $20 or more directly to La Soupe at lasoupe.org/donate-now and note “Josie’s Flower Stand” with your donation. Josie and her family will create a fresh bouquet and hand-deliver it to a local family who could use a little extra color in their day.
La Soupe is a Walnut Hills–based nonprofit that bridges the gap between food waste and hunger. Each week, they rescue around 30,000 pounds of fresh food from local grocers, farms, and distributors, then transform it into restaurant-quality soups and meals shared with community partners feeding families facing food insecurity. Learn more at lasoupe.org.
You can donate directly through La Soupe’s website at lasoupe.org/donate-now. Be sure to note “Josie’s Flower Stand” so we can track Sponsor a Bouquet requests. Every dollar goes directly to La Soupe’s mission of feeding families and reducing food waste.
Sign up for text alerts at remind.com/join/josiesf. When we restock or have a pop-up sale happening, we’ll send a quick text so you don’t miss out. The stand is typically open most summer weekends, with fresh zinnias restocked throughout the week at the front porch stand.
